How the checklist works
Start with your event type and what you need help with. The planner builds a free deterministic checklist — shopping, booking, preparing, packing and confirming — without needing AI.
Shopping vs preparation
Shopping List mode shows only Buy items. Preparation covers everything else: confirmations, setup, packing and event-day actions. Packing and Event Day modes are designed for phone use on the way to the venue.
When to start planning
Book early items first, then work through weeks-before and days-before phases. Add an event date to fill suggested dates automatically — you can override any date.
How My Event connects plans
Build From My Event can import Master Plan actions, Food & Drink quantities, theme direction, guest summaries, run sheet readiness, package services and My Quote follow-ups — without copying private guest details. Completed checklist items are preserved when connected plans change.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to buy for a party?
It depends on your event type, guest numbers and what is already arranged. Use the shopping view to focus on Buy items for food, drinks, tableware, décor and packing essentials.
What should be on a party checklist?
A useful checklist covers what to buy, book, prepare, pack, confirm and clean up — timed from booking early through to event day and after.
When should I start preparing?
Book early items first, then work through weeks/days-before phases. If you add an event date, suggested dates can be filled in automatically.
Can I create a packing list?
Yes. Packing mode shows Pack / Take With You items in a mobile-friendly list you can use before leaving home.
Can I use this for weddings?
Yes. Wedding-oriented templates cover suppliers, seating, printed materials, outfits and emergency kit — without becoming a full wedding planner.
Can I use it for children’s birthdays?
Yes. Children’s birthday templates include cake, candles, party bags, entertainment confirmation and packing essentials.
Can it use my Food & Drink Plan?
Yes. Build From My Event imports food shopping quantities (with units) while keeping your completed checklist items intact.
Can I save it to My Event?
Yes. Save to My Event stores a summary on your active event. The checklist also works standalone without creating an event.
Does it buy anything for me?
No. This is a planning checklist only — not a retailer marketplace or automatic purchasing system.
Can I use it without an account?
Yes. No login is required. Create a quick checklist from event type and categories, or connect My Event when you have one.
Suggestions are planning guidance. Every event and venue is different, so confirm important requirements directly with your venue and suppliers.
